Megaesophagus Feeder by TrendyPet.com
We have received many requests to build a raised feeder for dogs with Megaesophagus. We worked with a few owners of dogs with Megaesophagus and think we have come up with a raised feeder that may aid in digestion.
What is Megaesophagus? It is a disorder in dogs where the tube (esophagus) connecting the throat to the stomach loses its ability to transport food. The dog must be fed in an elevated stance so that gravity can aid in bringing food down into the stomach.
Here are a few benefits of the Megaesophagus Feeder by TrendyPet.com:
- The top feeding surface is tilted at a 15 degree angle downward so that your pet does not have to bend its head to reach the food
- The top surface also has a radius at the front edge so if your pet leans against it during feeding they will not be resting on a sharp edge
- The front step of the feeder will nest inside when the feeder is not in use to give you more floor space in between feedings
- The feeder comes in 3 sections that are easily assembled without tools it was designed this way to save on shipping cost
